Apparel Clarification
We wanted to provide clarification to the apparel. The store will open shortly and a link will be sent out. This link will also be on the website. In this email, you will find clarification to what needs to be ordered. Please read the entire email.
Baseball is a cut sport
Unfortunately, baseball is a cut sport. We have 4 teams at CTHS (Freshman, Sophomore, JV, and Varsity). On average, we have 80-100 players tryout every single season. To keep roster sizes to a reasonable number, we must have cuts. This is nothing personal and the absolute worst day as a coaching staff. This is why we meet with every player in the program. Cuts can happen at every student class from Seniors all the way down to Freshman. Every year is different and every player must try out at the end of February.
***Disclaimer***
If you are a freshman or unsure if your son will make a team, we HIGHLY recommend you wait for the store that will open after tryouts. The store will be order at your own risk. As a program, we cannot afford to buy items back from you that you purchase. Since these are custom items, they cannot be returned.
Mini-Player Package (After Tryouts) $120
This package will be sold to you by the program following tryouts. These are items we have to order well in advance to the season that every player needs. The price is not set in stone, but it should be around that number. This package includes the following below:
Required Items Everyone Must Have
Optional Apparel Items
Jersey Clarification
Final Note
If your son has a helmet, pants, cleats, turf shoes/ athletic shoes or backpack from a previous year, you do not need to purchase these new. You can reuse them this season. Unless, the team your son makes requires any additional or new item.
All players who make varsity will be required to have these items by day 1. We travel shortly after tryouts. The program will purchase some cream pants in-case you need to wait.
We know this is different from the traditional player packages we have had in the past. After some feedback we received, we decided to try out a new method this year. We know there will be some growing pains. After this year, we will determine if we need to go back to player packages.
